MERITS & FLAWS
These special Merits & Flaws are almost unique to the Uræus setting.
Merits:
Divinity (7 Merit):
You can believe it or not, but you were not Embraced at random:
You had in you the spark of divinity that showed that you were
but a God's Avatar (ie: a Jaggling. See Egyptian
Mythology and the World of Darkness chapter). This spark could
manifest itself through a Mage's Avatar, Innate Faith, or
anything else, but it was ''special'' enough (even for those
examples) to be the proof of your divinity.
This Merit violate innate rules of the Vampire System (or Storyteller
System, anyway):
1) You're unaffected by Faith Rating equal or under your
Willpower, no matter the source of the mythology.
2) You have a particular aura: Gold and silver veins streak
your aura like lightning in a night sky. 4 successes are required
to see them.
3) There is an empathic link enabling an Antediluvian (or even
Caine, or Lillith, of the judeo-christian god) to control
members of his Bloodline. You (and your Bloodline) are simply
out of the system, and unaffected by this tie of Blood. Your
own bloodline feels this link relating them to you, not to
the Antediluvian, or your Sire. Furthermore The rule stating
that an Elder is immune to the Blood Bond with members of his
Childer (etc.) are invalid when applied to you and your Bloodline.
It is whispered that some other powers can be acquired
through this Merit: Osiris was believed to keep his Vampiric
powers even in Death, Anubis to walk at will the World of the
Dead and the World of the Living, changing at will, Sechat was
believed to wield Ra Hekau, even as a Vampire, etc..
Every Founder has this Merit, end it is not unknown among some
other Childer to have it too. No one but the Childer of Set can
have this Merit, and this spark is destroyed through the Embrace
by any other Bloodline. Only one exception is known: Amon, Childe
of the Lasombra Montu, never aknowledged his Clan, and he was
believed to be the mouthpiece and arm of the Great God of Mystery:
Amon.
Note: It is very common to find the following Merits in
conjonction with the Divinity Merit, acquired upon the Embrace,
as Vampiric Vitae mingles with pure Divinity: Strong Blood
(5 Merit, Dirty Secrets of the Black Hand), Unbondable
(3 Merit Vampire Storyteller's Companion),
Blasé (2 Merit Clanbook: Toreador)
and New Bloodline (7 Merit Outcasts: Guide of Pariahs).
Because of the particular nature of their Embrace, the
Founders automatically have the Divinity Merit and the
New Bloodline Merit.
Nom (? Merit):
Flaws:
Corrupted (4 Flaw):
You are among the Childer of Set who secretly (and perhaps
unconsciously) follow the commands of Apep. You probably are
of the Ouro-Sen Bloodline (but still can be from another) and
you will be destroyed if the Childer (or even Set) discover
your corruption, or when the Purge will begin, or at the hand
of Horus forces. Or perhaps you will survive, thus joining the
Han-Ouib-Apoph, the Priests of the Wyrm, or the Followers of
Set as you will be known after...
The problem is that the Path of Enlightment that could enable
you to keep the Beast under control (i.e.: The Path of the
Typhon, or any other Path), will only be created after 2500 BC,
and only effective a long time after (from 1700 BC to 930 BC).
Until then, you're condemned to survive with a low Humanity.
You can't learn Bardo, but you can Learn the Thaumaturgical
Path of Corruption instead. You will win Serpentis as a Clan
Discipline after the Corruption of Set (935 BC).
