Hon Aton
The Reverers of Aton

There was a lot of Priest-Magician Orders in Egypt. Most among them were either True Mages, or even Hedge Mages, praticing Hekau Magic. Most followed the tenets of one primordial gid, such as Atum, Ra, Ptah, Khnoum, etc.. There was even minor Orders, whose political or magickal power was limited, at least by their numbers. Among them the Cult of Isis, or the mysterious Followers of Sechat, which would become the House Shaea of the Order of Hermes 5000 years after. One another order, of sinister purpose, would prove to be the downfall of Egypt, using every other Order, Tribe or Bloodline in their work to destroy Maat: The Han-Ouib-Apop will become known later as the Nephandi.
The Hon-Aton is a generic name for the divine orders of priest-magicians whose philosophy would become that of the Celectial Choir. There is a handful of mythical primordial gods: Atum, who was replaced by Ra, Ptah, Aton and even Apop were fist known as the Hon Atum. They were the Priesthood of Ra composed mostly by Awakened Mages. The exact nature of Ra (or his own children, grand children and great grand children) was not precisely explained, but where some believed them to have divine blood in their veins, other (thus explaining their supposed longevity), others simply believed they had a powerful Avatar protecting the whole Bloodline.
Ra was killed by his own great-grand-children, Osiris and Isis, who freed Egypt from his tyrany. Still, his powers were such he was soon revered as a God, and priests claimed to have been awakened to the mysteries of the universe by his immortal spirit.
The Religion of Ra had begun.
As the Vampire and other supernatural made a truce for the good of Maat, each established a priesthood of followers. But none truely understood from where came the Priesthood of Ra. Soon, the order divided into sub-orders. One of them, the Reverers of Atum, primordial God who is the origin of everything.
Destiny would give this Priesthood a great history indeed...

Destiny:
The sub-order known as the Reverers of Aton will finally take the power in the middle of the New Kingdom Era: they will reform the whole religions of Egypt, denying the other Gods their own existence. The greatest outrage will be done against Osiris, who will be denied his supposed power over the Land of the Dead, thus destabilizing its hold over it, the Reverers of Aton claiming there is no such Realm.
But the Gods of Egypt will retaliate. With Akhenaton dead, his own wife Nefertiti betraying him, and the young Toutankhamon brought back to the Old Ways, the Reverers of Aton will soon be hunted. The Order will disappear, but one of them, taking the lead of a few semitic tribes enslaved since they had invaded the Delta (In the Hyksos years), will flee to Canaan and forge a Kingdom with the iron of their faith and the blood of their victims, a Kingdom given to them by their God. This religion will affect the history of the world as none had done before, but that's another story.
The Reverers of Aton will become known, in the modern days, as the Celestial Choir.
