Khui-Amon
The Guardians of Mystery

The Guardians of Mystery is a late bloodline. At first, Montu, who pledged to serve Set for a limited time, became Montu, a warrior, falcon-headed god. But in prevision for the time to quit Egypt came, Montu Embraced a nubian man whose mysterious origins interested him. The man then claimed to be an Incarnation of Amon, and while Montu at first smiled at it, the Childer of Set took it very seriously. In the end, Amon even openly used his freedom, against even his Sire's wishes, and became the founder of a new Bloodline.
Appearance:
The Khui-Amon are few and most are concentrated in the city of Thebes. Either they remain in shadows, or pose as high (or low!) rank priests, most are not recognized for what they are. Despite the nubian origins of the Founder, the Khui-Amon can be of any racial origins.
Haven:
Khui-Amon make their haven exclusively in Temples of Amon, the greatest being the Temples of Thebes (Louksor will be among the greatest temples of the antiquity, and it will be a temple dedicated to Amon).
Background:
Most Khui-Amon are a scholar of some sort, most probably a priest, or even a bureaucrat. As they poses as priests, they have all their hair shaved before the Embrace (even the women).
Character Creation:
Mental Attributes are usually primary, and most of the time, Social ones are secondary. Khui-Amon, like their parent clan, Lasombra, form a Bloodline of leaders and effective bureaucrats or diplomats.
Disciplines:
For an unknown reason, while they keep the Lasombra Weakness, the Childer of Amon don't have the same Clan Disciplines: Obfuscate, Obtenebration and Presence.
Weaknesses:
The Khui-Amon have no reflection in any reflective surface, be it pure water, metal surface, etc.
Organisation:
The Khui-Amon are not apparently organized, unless for the Priests of Amon, who follow the priesthood hierarchy.
Stereotypes:
Bal-Noure: To the contrary of the Ouro-Sen, they as much as brains than muscle, and this is a deadly combination
Bast-Hemet: Well... They exist only to a life of pleasures and luxury.
Hat-Maat: These philosophers seem to know much, and quietly remind everyone about it. But when their theories must be tested in any practical field... Well...
Hekau-Nebet: Reclusive magicians. Few in numbers, but great in power. Needed allies of any political attempt to make something better of the Two-Lands.
Meryt-Pneter: As the Bast-Hemet, but without the funny cat ears. Their beauty is troubling, but as long as they do nothing with it...
Ouro-Sen: Powerful Bloodline. Their might is enough to stop most supernatural invasion of the Delta. But they rely too much on the brains of the Bal-Noure, or even the secret Hekau-Nebet.
Anoup: Their ties with the World of the Dead is troubling. Their might is frightening. But they can be neglected, because the powerful body has no brain to guide it...
Msoh-Sobek: These monsters could well defeat us, should they side with Apep. And to destroy them would cost us too much. The diplomatic way is the right one.
Nerhib Pehrt: Bast-Hemet without Blood.
Hon-Aton: These priests are preparing something. Their theological debates are useless, but could well turn in a deadly fanaticism. Dangerous.
Isis-Tiaou: As secret as the Hekau-Nebet, but their sympathies toward Horus is dangerous.
Shemsu-Heru: The Followers of Horus have memory troubles, and their Leader, the Great Horus, is the greatest fool of them. His hatred is clearly visible to the eyes of anyone with the brain of a dog. How can we be the only ones to see this?
Destiny:
The Khui-Amon are really destined to rule Egypt, and will lead the Two-Lands in the New Kingdom Era. But the return of Set, as well as the Purge will end all this, and the surviving Khui-Amon will retreat to Napata and to the Temple of Amon of the Sacred Moutain (Gebel Barkal).
Around 500 BC, a Nubian Pharao will rule egypt, if only for a Dynasty. The Napata civilization will survive until AD 500, but then will disappear, and with them, the Khui-Amon
Quote:
Power takes multiple forms, and numerous ways lead to the blessed state of Maat. We have chosen the best for the people of the Two-Lands. Now, you're with us, or you don't bother us...
Ways of the Khui-Amon:
Strength and Influence:
The Khui-Amon rely in to important parts of the Two-Land power sources: The Administration, and the Priesthood. While letting the justice area to the Hat-Maat, they like to know, if not to exert control over all the administration operations. Thus, if something of importance is decided (like a new trade alliance with a foreign trader), they will know it, and perhaps act to the best --in their eyes-- interests of the Two-Lands.
The priesthood is another field of control: The Khui-Amon will enhance the power of the Priesthood after the Middle Kingdom Era, and multiply the creation of temples and shrines, and will try to have most of them enchanted by the Hekau-Nebet to feed Amon with almost infinite quantity of magickal energy.
Organization and Priesthood:
Until the New Kingdom Era, the Priesthood of Amon will be under the jurisdiction of the Priesthood of Montu, but as soon as the God's imaage will blur in the memories of the people of the Two-Lands, Amon will reorganize everything, and absorbe the priesthood of his sire.
As lovers of mystery, stealth and secrecy, the Khui-Amon will usually masquerade as normal priests among the normal chain of command. The hierarchy is simple: Amon is above everyone else. Each one has one mission, and everyone must cooperate. Of course, everything is not as idyllic, but their vision of Egypt kept them from most mistakes, and keep the relation within the Bloodline cordial. Amon's decision about anything is final.
Current Pratices:
In the newmoon night following the new year, every Khui-Amon will go back to Thebes to dicuss Bloodline matters, most of these reunion being supervised by Amon himself. Aside this formality, there is no official practice.
Present Concern:
The Khui-Amon know firsthand how fragile the Administration can be, and their principal preoccupation is to protect it from any external or internal influence. Even the other Bloodline wishes and action through the Administration is known to the Khui-Amon, who keep to themselve the secret right to abort anything that would seem unatural to them.
Sub-Clans:
There is three subdivisions of Khui-Amon, each one tied to one their Bloodline Disciplines.
The Founder of the Khui-Amon is, of course, Amon himself.
