Ouro-Sen
The Sisters of the Uræus

This is the second oldest Bloodline of the Childer of Set. Wadjet and Nekhbet were two twin sisters who had attracted the attention of Set. Wadjet's sense of justice, and willingness to fight for it was only limited to her weak female form: In their village, the sisters would only be authorized to take up the home, children or field work. Still, their village was a powerful one, but they were easily defeated by Set's armies. Wadjet asked the mighty Set to have pity of the village's warriors. Nekhbet soon followed her twin sisters. Set accepted, to the condition the two would join him into Godhood, and serve Maat, and Egypt. They accepted.
Soon, they arrived to Osiris' capital, and Set confronted his brother. The fight didn't last long, and Wadjet understood vengeance, not justice, was the motivation behind Set's action. She asked to be authorized to follow Isis and protect her and her followers. Set agreed. Wadjet soon caught up with the fleeing people, and protected them. It is said she was bitten by an asp while walking in the Delta, and that instead of killing the reptile, she took it and made it her ghoul. She soon took the serpent Uræus as her symbol. But once again, Osiris and Set's path lead to mutual aggression. Wadjet had fallen in love with the young and mighty Horus, but she was disgusted by his thirst for revenge.
After the fight, she joined once more Set and her twin sister, creating the Ouro-Sen Bloodline and the Discipline Sofis. Because she works hard to keep the balance between the passionate Set and the cold Osiris, she was soon seen, along with her twin sister, as the protector of the Pharao, and so, of the Egypt.
Appearance:
Despite their female founder, the Ouro-Sen are mostly males. Powefully built and agile warriors, most of them, from all the parts of Egypt, with a little advantage for the Delta.
The Ouro-Sen tend to wear the cobra-like headclothe, as well as few clothes but leather parts of armor, bronze (or for the lucky, celestial iron) swords. They tend to appear singleminded, and even more when it comes to fight for justice.
Haven:
The Ouro-Sen tend to have no permanent haven, but in the military fortresses of the Lower Egypt.
Background:
Most were soldiers, a few are scribes or generals. A fewer are priests of various egyptian gods, allies of Pharao.
Character Creation:
Physical Attributes are primary, as well as Talents. They tend to have a great willpower, and to be courageous.
Disciplines:
Obfuscate, Presence and Sofis.
Weaknesses:
Like the other Childer of Set, the Ouro-Sen tend to have an eerie presence that increase the difficulty to Social Rolls by 2. Note that they usually uses this apparent weakness by using intimidation. In this case, they have a bonus of 2 to Intimidation Rolls
Organisation:
Wadjet is the leader of the Bloodline, and personnaly decides where any Ouro-Sen will be affected. Half are in the principal fortresses, guarding the boundaries of Egypt. The other half is working, along part of the Bal-Noure, as bodyguards of Pharao, or of the other Gods of Egypt.
The Prestige is tied to the prestige of successful missions of the Ouro-Sen (i.e.: someone who is the bodyguard of Pharao has greatest prestige than the one who protect a lost fortress).
Stereotypes:
Bal-Noure: Our Sisters and Brothers in the fight for Maat.
Bast-Hemet: Lazy Bloodline with little interest if not for their ties with the Shapeshifters
Hat-Maat: The guardians of Maat are worthy of our protection. They must succeed in their research
Hekau-Nebet: Magic is powerful, but I wonder about the true courage of the Bloodline of Sechat. Do they follow Maat, or their own aims?
Meryt-Pneter: Their beauty and their art will probably add to Egypt's aura in the whole world. Still, I don't see their usefulness...
Khui-Amon: I don't trust them.
Anoup: They hunted the humans in the past. Can we trust them?
Msoh-Sobek: They are powerful enemies, and unrelilable allies... I still wonder in what position I like them more.
Nerhib Pehrt: They don't really care about us...
Hon-Aton: These Priests are working hard for the people of Egypt. Their power is useful.
Isis-Tiaou: While we respect them, they tend to keep to themselves too much to win our trust.
Shemsu-Heru: These powerful magicians have a lot to teach to us. Respect us, but don't trust them too much. Horus was a spoiled child who lives now for his vengeance. How long before he will strike again the balance of Egypt?
Clan: What we think of this Clan?
Destiny:
The Ouro-Sen will look hard all around them for the sign of the enemy. They won't realize, until too late, they bore the enemy within their own breast, for the Han-Ouib-Apoph, the corrupted followers of Apophis, will first appear among them. They will be eaten from the interior, like a cancer, and soon, will become the seed of the Followers of Set.
Wadjet, despite (or because of) her power and her apparent prestige, will among the first to die at the hand of the Han-Ouib-Apoph.
Quote:
I will defend you, for the sake of Maat...
Ways of the Ouro-Sen:
Strenght and Influence:
The Bloodline concentrate his influence in the military areas. After the Hyksos invasion, the Ouro-Sen will send agents in all the world to learn about new military technics, tactics or artefacts. Egypt will lose its powerful army as the Ouro-Sen will be replaced by the Followers of Set, less competent in the matter. Bouto is the city of the Ouro-Sen, and the Godess Outo, Childe of Wadjet, leads the little priesthood following the Uræus way.
Organization and Priesthood:
There is not priesthood of Uræus.
Current Pratices:
The Ouro-Sen join at each crowning of a new Pharao, in the capital. There, they trade informations, new military technics, and engage into discussion with the Hat-Maat to define what is Justice, and what is Evil. In time of peace, two Ouro-Sen meeting will ritually fight each other. The fight will never lead to death, and only serve to better each fighter by confronting with another.
Some will corrupt the spirit of the Uræus, and replace it with Apoph. While the Ouro-Sen are not fond of rituals, the corrupted ones will multiply dark ceremonies and cruel sacrifices to attract the attention of the Wyrm.
Present Concern:
In time of peace, to protect the Delta and Pharao. In time of war, to fight the enemies, for Pharao.
The Ouro-Sen are wary of Magic, seeing it as a powerful tool they don't totally understand. Thus, the Hekau-Nebet Bloodline, as well as the mortal magicians, are distrusted, and spied upon.
